Course Structure

The Elevation Programme is delivered by Chartered Accountants Ireland on a part-time basis, from October to May each year.

Elevation students will have a choice of attending classes in their local education centre, or attending the dedicated Elevation class in Dublin which offers an online learning approach. Course timetables differ depending on the needs of each education centre and details can be found on www.elevationprogramme.ie

The dedicated Elevation class in Dublin will offer a unique blend of online learning and face to face tuition. Face-to-face classes will take place approximately every second weekend. In preparation for these classes, students will watch pre-recorded lectures online and complete small assignments to bring to class. This approach gives maximum flexibility as students can view the online classes at anytime, from anywhere – the ability to watch and re-watch classes will greatly enhance learning. These sessions will be integrated into Elevation classes in Dublin, but all students on the Elevation Programme, irrespective of study centre, will have access to the same online content.

Nationwide centres are run in local universities or Institutes of Technology. Courses are currently on offer in Athlone, Belfast, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford. All courses run subject to local demand.

As the largest accountancy education provider in Ireland, Chartered Accountants Ireland has access to the best lecturers from Ireland and the UK. The team on the Elevation Programme, drawn from both academia and business, has extensive experience lecturing on executive and professional education programmes.

Approach to Education

The Chartered Accountants Ireland education programme provides a focus on business management and ethical issues, together with core technical accountancy areas. You will be empowered to take responsibility for your own learning, encouraged to develop critical and analytical skills; and to apply your knowledge in unstructured settings.

Each course has a ‘blended learning’ approach with pre-reading and online elements to each subject. Students are given web and CD based study aids which introduce and explain topics. The Elevation Programme will also utilise the latest AV facilities to support your learning, with online delivery complementing
face-to-face lectures.

Some subjects contain continuous assessment, taking some pressure away from the end of year exams. With the exception of CAP2 taxation, all CAP2 and FAE subjects are assessed by open book exam, allowing you to bring any paper-based materials into the exam hall.

This education model allows for maximum flexibility and support. You will learn gradually over an 8 to 9 month period, without the need to cram or rote-learn for examinations.
This results in enhanced learning and higher pass rates. Current 1st attempt pass rates for the Final Admitting Exam are above 80%.
